Trees are thought of as static. “Rooted” is a word we might use to describe them - we might describe a human belonging to a place the same way. But when I think of seeds, blossoms, roots, and rhizomes, it is movement that I think of. This textile installation of indigo dye of mangrove trees is to explore what it means to move and yet stay rooted.
A spontaneous act and a daring exploration of queerness and eco-sexuality, from which it wishes to manifest a sense of care, connection and freedom of identity at large, and embody collective love for each other and for nature.

A series of works realized during a residency at Qiandao (thousand-island) Lake. Strangely familiar landscapes were translated into squares of indigo blue, offering touch of tranquility and sanctuary, islands thus emerging once again in the slow tactile processs.





Myriads were ’drowned’ by lockdown – it was the ‘island’ that emerged, becoming a point of departure for the charting of the Greek archipelago. Traced, mapped, superimposed and animated, thirty islands drift in digital water, converging at a quaking reality.
