Part 1 of the project features the outlines of thirty islands of the Greek archipelago - traced, mapped, superimposed and animated, resembling a convolution of unrealized desires for travel, for adventure, for expanse, for connection... It was realized under the first lockdown in Europe, when I started programming. Geographical data translates into computer data, is then animated through coding into a web page.
Exhibition view at CHAxART, Amsterdam
Part 2 of the project visualizes ferry line patterns and graphic research on ancient sculptures of the Cycladic islands of Greece. It combines techniques of embroidery, silkscreen, stencil printing; it is realized during my one-month residency at AGA LAB.
