b. 1990, China
Amsterdam, Athens, Shanghai, among other places
I am fascinated with subjects concerning memory, identity, movement, queerness and our living environment. By using a variety of mediums, I explore how we discover ourselves in an ever-changing context, and weave those themes through my work in ways that interconnect. Having spent my childhood in China, I am attracted to symbols that reveal and convey meaning and memory; and later living in different countries across Europe, I find myself challenge my own identity and seek a sense of rootedness through movement and our diverse living environment. With my practice, I research topics that have a lot to reveal about us, our communities, and serve to chronicle our history on many levels.
I’m also part of the cross-disciplinary auction performance Dead Darlings collective, that challenges notions of value, demand, desirability and commerce in art .
